Brian is a seasoned marketing and operations executive that has spent his entire career helping companies grow and operate more efficiently and effectively. Brian has developed and led strategies for some of the biggest brands in the world, including health-related brands AFLAC, Amgen, P&G and Biogen. Most notably, he led the corporate rebrand of Vencor to Kindred Healthcare. Early in Brian’s career, he specialized in helping Fortune 500 companies grow and build brand value through improved marketing and sales strategies. He also founded a company focused on measuring the effectiveness of marketing investments which paved the way to a focus on efficient operations. In recent years, Brian has worked with many organizations in the healthcare center of Nashville, TN to establish and improve their marketing and operations strategies. Brian joined Adams Keegan in 2017 to lead the firm’s regional office in Nashville. While he supports all Adams Keegan clients in the Middle Tennessee region, his primary focus is on healthcare companies across the nation. Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College and attended the McIntire Business Institute at the University of Virginia.
Sarah Hoit is a social entrepreneur whose career has focused on strategies that impact large issues affecting families and their communities. She co-founded Connected Living in 2007 to create a private social network that bridges the “digital divide” for the millions of seniors who have been left out of the conversation that connects their families and communities. Connected Living provides a “high tech and high touch” way for families to connect privately, access goods and services and enhance their quality of life. Sarah was previously Founder and CEO of Explore, Inc., an education company that operated programs that met the academic and social needs of every student through the integration of experiential learning, homework, physical education, and community service. Prior to founding Explore, Sarah served as the Director of Business Planning in the White House Office of National Service, and then as Deputy Director of “AmeriCorps” where she was a senior official in the Corporation for National Service that has enabled over 1 million youths to serve their country.
Sarah holds a BA with Honors from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS), where she was awarded a public service fellowship.
Daniel received his Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn. After working in New York City and at Gensler in Baltimore, MD, Daniel worked for a design-build company for three years developing designs for multi-family and senior living sectors. Upon licensure and registration, Daniel founded DKLEVY Architecture and Design with his wife Kendel.
DKLEVY has worked on over 250 projects spanning three countries, focusing on designing exceptional experiences in entertainment, senior living, multi-family living, religious, and working spaces. DKLEVY has been awarded several national awards including the ACHP National Preservation Chairman’s Honor from President Obama’s appointed design jury for best preservation project at the Guest House at Alexander Inn, and the Best Senior Living Project of the Year for design and architectural work on Historic Knoxville High School.
Daniel sits on a variety of boards and also works closely with the University of Tenn. creating opportunities and experiences for design students through internships and practical hands-on work. He is licensed in Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, New York, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, and Virginia. Daniel is passionate about exceeding client expectations and helping clients meet and realize their vision and goals.
Barbara Kane is V.P. of Industry Relations for Ecolab Inc., the world’s leading provider of cleaning, food safety and health protection products and services.
Kane currently represents Ecolab cross divisionally with all trade associations in the areas of foodservice, hospitality, healthcare, government, education, and manufacturing. Previously she held the role of AVP Global Accounts, where she was responsible for leading, managing and maintaining customer relationships while maximizing Ecolab’s overall offerings. Kane has also held corporate account positions with Sara Lee Corporation, and has over 20 years of experience in the foodservice & hospitality industry.
Kane serves on the Board of Directors of the AHF, IFMA, SFM, as well as UNLV & SDSU International Advisory Boards. She participates on a number of different committees, including Strategy Committee Industry Relations with Women’s Foodservice Forum, Immediate Past President of Society of Foodservice Mgmt. She is also an active member in several other organizations, including Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, AHCH, AH&LA’s Women in Leadership, IFSEA., National Restaurant Association and Network of Executive Women. Kane frequently keynotes to Associations and Corporations on women in business, networking & leadership.

Jamison Gosselin is vice president of Senior Living at G5 responsible for strategies driving best in class marketing products, services and performance for the senior living business. Prior to joining G5, Jamison served as an executive marketing and communications consultant, senior vice president of Marketing, Communications and Resident Enrichment at Holiday Retirement, senior vice president of Marketing and Communications at Argentum (ALFA), a senior living trade association, and in a variety of communications and corporate marketing leadership roles at Sunrise Senior Living. He started his marketing and communications career at former telecommunications company MCI. Jamison has an MBA from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and a BA in Political Science from The American University in Washington, DC.

I was in the original development group, site acquisitions that expanded Erickson Living Campus’s across the U.S.

Jami is the leader of our firm’s Senior Living Practice Area and is a dedicated proponent of innovative design for the aging. With a diverse project history, Jami offers an extensive knowledge of senior living types from independent living, assisted living, and memory support to skilled nursing, and rehabilitation facilities. Jami created and launched a national Aging-In-Place Toolkit with guiding principles to better serve the growing older adult population in residences not dedicated to senior living. Jami strengthens the sense of community through designs that foster stronger socialization, wellness, and improve overall well-being. He engages the client in the journey and takes design concepts to reality through his passion for design, technical expertise, and strong commitment to the client’s vision. Jami attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, Bachelor of Environmental Design.
With over 15 years’ experience in senior housing sales and marketing, Kelly Ornberg is highly regarded as a leading expert for Life Plan Community start-ups in new markets. She has opened and supported over 20 communities across 12 different states. In her current role as Chief Marketing Officer for Summit Vista, a multi-million-dollar senior living community located in Salt Lake City, Utah, Kelly directs all sales, marketing, feasibility, and construction design efforts, as well as represents Summit Vista to the community and surrounding area. In addition, she is responsible to grow the organization to multiple states in the next 5 years.
In 2016, Kelly joined the Summit Vista team and helped secure an historic $100M funding loan to bring the new $400 million Life Plan Community to Salt Lake City, Utah. She is highly recognized for her ability to achieve results.
Scott Smith is Director of Education and Experience for Thrive Senior Living. He has led team members in nearly 500 communities on the benefits of the use of technology to engage residents in person-directed care. Scott spent 7 years with It’s Never 2 Late, developing and leading the strategic implementation of the engagement program throughout the country. As the Director of Education and Experience with Thrive Senior Living, Scott now develops training programs company wide, as well as leading the implementation of new programs and technology. Scott lives in Colorado Springs, CO, with his wife and 4 children.
Gary joined vcpi in 2019 as Vice President of Sales, where he worked closely with senior leadership to expand partnership networks and client relationships. He became promoted to General Manager of Customer Experience in August 2019, now managing all customer facing activities, including sales, account management, and marketing. Gary also directly supports our sales efforts and creates thought leadership content pertaining to the LTPAC industry.
Prior to vcpi, Gary was the VP of Sales and Marketing at RCare Inc., an e-call provider in the senior living space. He has a Bachelor's of Science - Biology while at Cornell University.
Outside of the office, Gary enjoys spending time with his wife and family, as well as crossfitting, mentoring young professionals, and staying active in alumni organizations through his alma mater.
James is currently the Director of Culinary Excellence of WesleyLife Senior Living. He is in charge of managing all Food and Beverage for WesleyLife portfolio of 10 CCRCs. He also assists with the design, development and renovation of venues.
James Hoevertsz is a seasoned executive with over three decades of experience in hospitality and senior living. His background includes managing multi-level senior living communities, large hotels and resorts, including Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, Sheraton, Brookdale Senior Living and Pacific Retirement Services.
James was the founder and administrator of the North County Culinary Academy in San Marcos, California, where he spent 12 years leading the Culinary and Hospitality Management programs. He has developed and implemented hospitality and culinary training guides to assist with staff development and has extensive knowledge of leadership techniques to help train and motivate teams of any discipline. He was a competitor on Chopped in 2013 and is the recipient of numerous prestigious culinary awards.
James holds a Business Management Degree from San Diego State University and a Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Degree from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. He also holds a Vocational Education Teaching Credential and is an RCFE certified administrator. James is a national speaker, presenter and facilitator at many educational conferences, promoting leadership and high standards of service.
